The construction of a state-of-the-art high-security prison in Dobrunje is nearing completion – completion is scheduled for the middle of the year. The new facility, worth 86.5 million euros, will have a significant impact on the situation in the Slovenian prison system, which is currently operating at over 130 percent capacity.
“Adequate spaces that ensure respect for human dignity certainly help individuals to change their lifestyles and lifestyles. At the same time, solving the lack of space, which is currently to some extent a violation of human rights, is certainly a step in the right direction,” says our researcher Mojca M. Plesničar.
